Who we are
LVW - Lobo Vasconcellos Wines is a company created by Manuel Lobo and Francisco Bessa, whose purpose is to produce wines that reflect the authenticity of their terroirs.
Where we are
Currently we explore vineyards in Alentejo, in Herdade da Perescuma (in Vendinha, Évora), as well as in Herdade do Zambujal do Conde in Évora. Each of the vineyards has its own characteristics, which derive from the adafo-climatic conditions, some of them unique in the region and the unique way in which the grape varieties we produce adapt to these conditions.
The contact of the Lobo de Vasconcelos Family with the world of vineyards and wine goes back more than 200 years. The first cellar built dates back to 1817, at Quinta do Casal Branco in Almeirim, Ribatejo region. In 1969, the Lobo de Vasconcellos family acquires Herdade da Perescuma in Alentejo. A strong family tradition of entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector, having as main activities, the wine, livestock, olive and forestry.
Lobo de Vasconcellos Wines Lda is to: "Promote the authenticity of our "terroirs", with wine lovers, through the creation of unique and authentic wines". It's strategy and organization are designed to pursue this mission.
